Strong Girl Bong Soon  is the first Kdrama (Korean Drama) that I watched. And it is completely different from the dramas I had previously been watching. There was the romantic and cheesy element but there was also a very dark and creepy overshadow to it all. The show follows Bong Soon who has super strength which is passed down the female line of her family. She avoids using her powers in order to not draw attention to herself as well as to avoid giving herself the opportunity to lose her powers. This show is GORGEOUS and a nice distraction from the usual romantic drama.

OVERALL STORY: I think that the way this story is presented is pretty well done. Bong Soon is an engaging character and she is so blunt it is hilarious. Her chemistry with Min-hyuk is really great too. However the storyline with the crazy serial kidnapper dude is.... creepy to say the least. I mean he kidnaps women to use them as brides like the crazy play he is obsessed with. And although I didn't think he'd be a viable villain at first, I mean she has super strength, he turned out to be the best kind of villain for this show. He was smart and used her weaknesses against her. I didn't know if I'd like the edgy part of the show but I thought it added the perfect element. There is a love triangle in this show but as someone who harbors a deep hatred for that this didn't bother me as much. Just like in Meteor Garden I don't consider it a normal love triangle. She is not sitting there trying to decide between her long time crush and gorgeous CEO dude. There is no Bella Swan in her. She likes one dude and then that changes. She never has to question her feelings like that. It is just the way it is which is beyond nice can I just say. Also just a little note I love that little school group who worships Bong Soon they are HILARIOUS.

MAIN COUPLE: THEY ARE SO CUTE. The best part of their relationship is definitely
Min-hyuk's approach to it. He literally fangirls over her and it is the most precious thing ever. Seeing how excited he gets at seeing her is something to live for I swear. It has to be the hardest thing in the world protecting Bong Soon who as soon as she accepts her powers runs face first into danger Min-hyuk is so great about it. Once she likes him they are the sweetest. He is the voice of reason and she is the one who cheers him up. Yet they are the light in each others lives. They both are so cute when they think about each other. Fangirling is a must in my future relationship now. I am so glad her relationship with Guk-Doo didn't work out because I felt like this one had so much more chemistry.

OTHER COUPLES: There is a couple who gets a small bit of screen time. Bong Soon's brother and this girl (Guk-Doo's ex girlfriend) end up getting together but they don't get a lot of time. However they were pretty cute. The only thing that bothered me about them is I feel like she should have broken up with Guk-Doo as soon as she started getting interested in another dude. I mean come on how is that fair to anyone?

BONG SOON: This girl is a fighter. But she is also blunt as all heck. I mean she doesn't mince her words and I love that about her. Because at the same time she is also super sweet and cute. Watching her accept and use her powers was one of the greatest parts of this show. Once she started beating stupid people up the show really hit its peak. And it led to her ultimate show down with the serial kidnapper who she totally destroyed which I lived for. Because he deserved it. Bong Soon was definitely such a great main character.

MIN-HYUK: THIS DUDE. It is of no surprise that this guy is the second on my list of my favorite fictional asian guys. (Second only to Daoming Si) HE IS SO PRECIOUS. Like I mentioned earlier this guy fangirls like nothing. I mean seriously sometimes it felt like watching a teenage girl. Which one would think would be a turn off but it is actually the cutest thing. But even with a girlfriend with super strength he is kickbutt. He can fight like a pro and is pretty good with computers. I mean he owns a company for computer games so he's legit. And he is confident and sensitive.

GUK-DOO: I have complicated feelings about him. I mean as a person he is kind of abrasive and unapproachable but he is intelligent. I mean I was rooting for him throughout the show because his instincts were on point regarding the serial kidnapper. However as a love interest for Bong Soon I hated him. He was so mean to her. Yes I understand he was being protective but did that mean he had to yell at her everytime? It was just so.... annoying. I felt like he didn't respect her so in that regard I really didn't like him. However once she went with the other dude and Guk-Doo was completely taken out of the running, my opinion of him improved. And I feel bad but one of my favorite scenes in the show is watching him get friendzoned.

KYUNG-SHIM: I won't get a lot into her just because she wasn't super important. But she was a pretty legit best friend. I thought she and Bong Soon were pretty cute as besties. And she was just such a fun character to watch on screen and I feel bad cause a lot of sucky things happened to her. I mean she was always drawing the short end of the straw. (I also think she should have ended up with Bong Soon's brother but thats not important)
