Yoo Ri-ta: Love interest and a surgeon
Joo Hyun- Woo: brilliant scientist and main guys best friend
Lee Jae Wook: Main Antagonist

Blood gave me a lot of mixed feelings if I'm entirely honest. It had a slow start, so slow that I started another show to compensate. However it really picked up in the middle so much to point that I was considering adding it to my to buy list. Then the ending was just so... heartbreaking and confusing that I don't know where I am now on it. Blood  is about a famous surgeon Park Ji-Sang who is infected with a "vampire virus" and comes to work at a cancer hospital in order to find out more about mysterious pictures posted in their files. While there he discovers that everything is not as it seems and may find love in the process.

OVERALL STORY: So I really did like the whole story around the vampire virus. As I am watching Vampire Diaries right now it was cool to get this whole other perspective on vampires. Along with the fact that it had that scientific element of finding a cure I thought the story was pretty great. It had a legit villain (who I hated) and enough romance to not seem out of place in the story. I also loved the various characters who really got fleshed out the show. However like mentioned in the brief review above I did have a lot of problems with the ending. First of all they were killing people left and right which I DID NOT APPRECIATE because one of them was my favorite character. Then there was that confusing ending. I mean HE DIED but then somehow he came back to life and saved her from those infectees? I mean the only explanation I can come up with is somehow his cells regenerated him back to life. Somehow his body chemistry brought him back but I don't know for sure. It could have been explained better and when it ended it felt...unfinished. I also didn't think that the villain got what he deserved. I expected them to take away his research and everything he cared about. I expected them to make him into a human again and send him off to jail. I think that would have been a better ending for him. To see him lose everything. Not just to grow old. Just a personal opinion though. Also there were so many questions that didn't get answered. What happened to the patients in Ward 21A? What happened to that little girl who got infected? Who took control of the hospital? What happened to that jerk assistant director lady who tried to murder Ri Ta? It is so frustrating to have it be so open like that.

MAIN COUPLE: I really did love this couple. The poor main dude needed to smile more I mean he was cold and aloof but then she'd say something and he'd just do this precious little half smile that made him way more attractive. The amount of respect and support they had for each other really was great. Although it took forever for them to legitimately trust each other once they did magical things happened. I loved their first kiss but even more than that I love how she was willing to adjust for his differences. His body temperature is naturally cooler so he has to sleep in a cooled bed and she got all bundled up so that she could sleep with him. And seeing them cuddle like that was so precious!

OTHER COUPLES: One couple that started before it's tragic ending was between Joo Hyun Woo and Ri Ta's best friend. Seeing them be so cute and awkward was great. I really wish that HE HADN'T DIED so that we could have gotten more of them. Ugh it is one of the saddest parts of this show. Another couple that I shipped but nothing really happens is between two members of the main antagonists team. They have a special relationship but it is never clear if it was romantic or not. It would have been interesting to explore that before you know...they both got killed.

PARK JI-SANG: I love a main character who does not believe stupid things. I mean this guy is really intelligent. There were a couple times that the main antagonist fed him lies about how he was not actually a bad guy and didn't murder his parents and all that but he wasn't even phased. I mean how often do you get that in fiction? Almost never. I can't even explain how nice it was to have someone who doesn't just fall for any stupid lies. And this guy is just amazing. He is genuinely caring and kind. He is smart and yet he is also super kickbutt. I mean when they had to get those blood samples from Ward 21A to be tested and he totally beat up all of those security guys. *happy sigh* it was definitely one of the best parts of the show.

YOO RI-TA: Holy crap I did not expect to like her as much I did. At the beginning she is portrayed as a spoiled, selfish girl. I really did not like her and was not excited for the romance. But then as time went on I came to appreciate how she was. She did not take crap from anyone and she fought for her patients. She was willing to step in and do surgery when Park Ji-Sang was struggling. She didn't back down when the main antagonist tried to intimidate her. She was definitely the girl main lead that we needed because no one could have stood up to the bad guys quite like her. I definitely loved the scenes where she sassed the main antagonist and the assistant director.

JOO HYUN- WOO: HE IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CHARACTER OH MY GOSH WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE. I definitely cried the hardest at his death. And I hated the villain after he just killed him off. This guy was brilliant and the light when everything was dark. He was the one who was happy and optimistic which was definitely needed during the dark and hard times of this show. He was the one who encouraged everyone to keep researching and helped them defeat the antagonist. He was the one holding everyone together and his death definitely broke a lot of the people.

LEE JAE WOOK: I HATED HIS SMUG FACE. I hated how he just killed so many people for small reasons. And I hated that I felt like I didn't get the revenge that he most definitely deserved. He was a good antagonist but I think he was a little too good. Because I truly and honestly despise him.
