Love Lasts Forever is a show following a girl named Sakura Nanase who has had a crush on this doctor she met for 5 years. Determined to meet him again she trains to become a nurse and gets placed at the hospital he works at. But when she meets him he is not at all like she remembers--he is known as "the devil" around the hospital. But Nanase is determined to get through to him, no matter what.

I adored this show so much. It was light, soft, and adorably romantic. I have been hunting for a physical copy of this show to no avail. This was my first Japanese show and I didn't know what to expect since I have never enjoyed Japanese shows as much as others. But this one was absolutely one of my favorite shows.

OVERALL STORY: This show was a mere 10 episodes of fluff and cliches. AND I LOVED IT. The characters were all so well played that I couldn't help love not only the leads but the entire medical staff. I have always been a fan of medical dramas so I was excited for this. This show made me tear up at certain parts with the patients and how the doctors handled it. The plot was paced really well though considering how short this show was. I do kind of wish it had lasted longer so that we could have gotten expansion on certain things but it was nice to have it be short so that the drama didn't last obnoxiously long. But I loved the character development that both the main characters--and others--went through. It was nice to have that since this drama was so light. Overall this drama was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend! My heavens just writing about all of this makes me want to watch it again.

MAIN ROMANCE: Oh my gosh their relationship was so cute. It was the trope with the super serious dude and the bubbly girl. Which is one of my favorites. The leads had great chemistry and they showed the romance so well. I just liked how their relationship changed them both. They changed each other which is what a good relationship should do. You should want to be better for each other. I loved their interactions throughout the whole show because of how sweet and hilarious they were. I especially loved when he finally admits out loud that he loves her (and why he loves her) I swooned so hard. I do want to also add that I loved that he could let her go on that study abroad trip. He never tried to hold her back from her dreams. He is such an example. I could go on forever about them but I want to keep it short and sweet. My final opinion: They were adorable.

OTHER ROMANCES: This won't be long because I didn't particularly care for the secondary romance between Kairi's sister and this nurse dude (who could not handle seeing spilled blood which was actually hilarious.) so I'm just gonna note that it existed and did have its cute moments but overall I didn't particularly care for it. I did enjoy the romance that was hinted between Dr. Kisigui and one of the nurses. I wish we had gotten to see more of them but it was hinted that they had a thing at the end so I will have to be satisfied with that.

TENDO KAIRI: He is so precious oh my gosh. Words cannot describe how much I love this guy. He is sweet and such a cinnamon roll when you get to know him. He also falls u
nder the category of "the sun comes out when he smiles." He comes off as your typical cold main guy at first but he is so much more than that. He is a fantastic doctor and just the sweetest person you could meet. Which is why it is so funny to me looking back at it that he was called "the devil." Ahhhh I just love him. I was also reading a bit and the guy who plays him is apparently a more introverted fanboy so I was sold after that. Absolutely my favorite character of the show--bless him.

SAKURA NANASE: I liked her a lot and she reminded me of Tong Nian from Go Go Squid because of her more naive nature. Like Tong Nian Sakura Nanase also is incredibly smart and kind. I love how determined she was to be a good nurse and how focused she was on getting Kairi to like her. She is legitimately an amazing person and nursing is a perfect career for her. I loved how she took the time to get to know each patient so that she could better help them. She was helpful to the patients, doctors, and other nurses alike. She taught an important lesson: learning more about those you help is important in helping them better. I loved her.

DR KISIGUI: I just wanted to talk about him for a minute because he was the other half of this love triangle that never happened. He liked Nanase and was her really good friend. After he admitted how he felt about her and she turned him down he was totally cool and was like "I want you and Kairi to be happy. I'll still be your friend no matter what." Like yes my dude. He reminded me of Lei from Meteor Garden in the sense of him being a real friend. This is how people should act when being turned down! I really liked him because of that incident.

RUUYUKO: I'm not going to talk about her for very long but I really liked her character. She was hilarious and I loved how she was being all helpful in getting Kairi and Nanase together. At first I thought she was going to be all "overprotective older sister" but she was the complete opposite. I was really grateful for her character in the show.
