Situ Mo: Main Girl
Put Your Head on My Shoulder is about two people (Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi) who accidentally become roomates. As they navigate the hardships of college life they grow to care more for each other. This is a show about growing up and facing the hard things in life.
I really did like this show despite some of its flaws. It is a cute story about college life and maturing during that time. I liked how realistic this show was especially in regards to the main couple. (Which will be discussed in more detail in the section below.) I was surprised at how quickly I finished this because usually I take my time with shows. But I couldn't help but be drawn in by this one. I'd recommend this to people looking for a cute, light romance and a lot of character growth.

OVERALL STORY: This show had a really well written plot. It was all paced just right so you got the full impact of the story. What I liked most about the plot though was how it related to the growth of the characters. This show has a nice collection of flawed characters. Both of the main characters have their own issues and I felt like it really added to the show. The events that occured helped push the characters into uncomfortable situations that really helped them reach their potential. Just like life. It showed the struggles of being a poor college student and what happens when you make poor choices financial or otherwise. One of my favorite parts in the show is towards the end when Situ Mo is not getting credit at her job for the work she did. Despite telling her boss and trying to do something about it things are not working out. So she quits. And that seriously took guts because it was a good job and I thought it was inspiring that she didn't let people walk all over her. The experience led to a lot of character growth. And there were so many things like this throughout the show. But I did have somethings that bothered me. At times I felt like the characters were just creating drama for no reason. Mainly Situ Mo did this which actually opened my eyes to just how confusing we girls can seem. They were sometimes a little too open about things but that wasn't really a criticism because it added to the realism of the show. Overall this plot was really well written and, despite its flaws, it made for an interesting story.
MAIN ROMANCE: I went through serious ups and downs with this one. There were times where I was all like, "They are the cutest ever!" and there were other times I wanted to strangle them both. COMMUNICATION. That's what they needed more in their relationship. What I liked about this show is how they learned to communicate with each other to solve their issues. It was nice to see them rely and open up to each other instead of the silent treatment. I really did love them as a couple though because they just worked so well together. Their interactions were so cute and I loved how they were just best friends living life together. Overall their relationship was very realistic and once they were together there were no stupid, unnecessary break ups. I loved going through this journey with them and I think they are well worth the watch.
SECONDARY ROMANCE: Okay so the relationship between Fu Pei and Wang Shan was cute. BUT I absolutely hated the way they got together. It was such a contrast between this one and the main relationship. Situ Mo (the main girl) started off like Fu Pei and he liked her back. But Fu Pei was really not all that great at not hurting her feelings so the two drifted apart. Gu Weiyi, although he liked her, respected the fact that she was still going through heartbreak over what happened. He never pushed her to go any further than when she was ready. NOT THIS ONE THOUGH. I felt like Wang Shan was way too pushy in getting Fu Pei to like her. He was going through an incredibly hard time because Situ Mo didn't want to have anything to do with him. And Wang Shan would waltz right in and be like "go out with me" and "I like you." Once they got together it was fine but I felt like it was too fast for her to be pushing him into a relationship. If that had been fixed than I would have given their relationship a full A. Because they were super cute.
SITU MO: I liked her most of the time but seriously she needs to communicate her feelings more. She got mad often which made it annoying even when she was mad for a legitimate reason. But although I wanted to strangle her at times I really did like her as a main character. She was hilarious and I liked how she went after the things she wanted. She also did not let people treat her like crap which is an admirable quality. I liked that she was flawed as a main character because there are times when a main character is a little too perfect.
GU WEIYI: He was of a quieter more awkward sort and I adored him. He just didn't know quite what to do with himself as he grew to like Situ Mo. He was hilarious in the ways he approached things like when he is trying to tell her that he likes her. I also liked how nice he was just generally as a person. Even before he liked Situ Mo he would do nice things for her. But even though he was super nice he was not a person to be crossed. I wish I had his talent of getting rid of annoying people. Like seriously with one look he could get someone to leave him alone. If that didn't work (like with that annoying senior girl) he could sass like no other. He is my role model.
FU PEI: I really hated him in the beginning but by the end he was one of my absolute favorite characters. I didn't like him at the start because I felt like he didn't really respect Situ Mo or how she felt about things. He ignored her when she said to leave her alone and he just didn't understand the "leave me alone" signals for the longest time. There is just a certain point when you need to LEAVE SOMEONE ALONE. It went on longer because Wang Shan was being a martyr but I'm not going into that here. But after he stopped trying to create a stupid love triangle he was actually pretty great. He was a great friend and he helped the main relationship move along so go him!
WANG SHAN: I liked her but I also wanted to tell her to stop creating unnecessary drama with her stupid self sacraficing. (Luckily, Gu Weiyi told her for me so there's that.) She was continually pushing Fu Pei at Situ Mo despite knowing that her friend DID NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM. I felt like she didn't really respect what others wanted which is why I don't think I could ever completely like her. What she did the first half of the show bothered me too much. But I did like how she supported Fu Pei throughout everything so she has that going for her.
QUOTE: "I was really caught by Situ Mo. I have an IQ of 187. After meeting Situ Mo, it seems I only have 87 left. I started to do a lot of stupid things. I started to do crap. And lost the calmness I've always had. I watch her giggle all the time. But...I found my IQ is in the continuously declining trend. For example, although I know it's dangerous, I still get in the car when she drives. I'm willing to." --Funny end quote from Gu Weiyi
